The room was nice. The decor was nice, but as other reviews have stated, this hotel is loud. Normal conversations of guests talking in the hallway, can easily be overhear in your room.
I stayed at this hotel because my son was having surgery at Children's Hospital. David and Latoya were so welcoming and friendly. Since I was traveling alone with my son, Latoya was kind enough to run out my parking pass and David helped me to my room with the pack-n-play. When the key didn't work he ran back downstairs and got it corrected and came back up with the new keys. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. If I need to stay in Birmingham again I will definitely stay here.
While staying at this hotel with my infant son and carrying all of our bags, David and Latoya went out of their way to help me. Latoya ran back out to my car with the parking pass so that I wouldn't have too. David also assisted me with taking my pack-n-play up to the room. The key didn't work so he went all the way back downstairs for a new key. The hotel was clean, spacious, and quiet. David and Latoya went way above and beyond any expectations.

Hands down the BEST Hilton Garden Inn I have ever stayed at! The staff was great the prices are unbeatable! The room was A+ and everything was clean. David helped me at the front desk and he was super helpful, courteous a all around provided great customer service! I will defiantly stay here anytime I come to Birmingham!
The next day of my two day stay, we went to supper. When we returned, our key card wouldn't open the door because in their haste, they didn't program the correct length of stay.
Assigned another guest's room. It's really freaky walking in on someone with a newly programmed key card. Makes me wonder if they have *any* security at this place.
Hotel charged fees for no reason, then denied charging the fees, then when my bank sent them proof they charged the fees they charged the fees a second time while trying to process a refund. Hilton corporate says they don't have any control over the accounting of individual properties. Managers are unavailable during the day and gone at night. If you ever want a job where you don't have to show up for work, get to avoid customers, get to screw with customer's bank accounts, and never have to worry about being trained to do your job HILTON is the place to work. AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS!!! There are several other options in downtown Birmingham that are nicer places to spend the night without worry of untrained people processing unapproved charges to you.
