Very nice pet-caring people here. I would recommend to anyone looking for dog grooming services in Birmingham area.
We're a bit of what I think some might see as a "difficult" customer because I'm super paranoid about my dog and went in the first time with a laundry list of questions after my dog was abused at another groomers. They answered all my questions with patience and kindness and still do so as I still ask "Did he do okay!?" with a bit of fear in my voice. He always does fine! I believe Whiskey does so well at this groomers because they don't over book, so your dog isn't shoved into a cage for hours with other barking dogs near by. Instead it's just your dog and one other and their lovely groomers. You get to meet and talk to your groomer each time, and they take the time to ask exactly what you want and do no less or more (the other place NEVER did what I asked. I do not want my dogs fur cut in any way. The other place repeatedly kept doing it no matter what I said and messed up his beautiful coat which took over a year for his fur to grow back properly around his tail).
Super, as always! Love the personal attention and great communication via email about cancellations and alternate availability. Hate leaving Trudie at the other places where she has to sit in a kennel most of the day. This place has the right idea.
LOVE this place!! I took my puppy here for his first grooming, and the ladies were all so great with him. Susie did a wonderful job grooming him. The price was great. My puppy came home groomed with a report card, biscuit, and a bandana. I'd highly recommend this place!
I take my dog Whiskey here and could not ask for more from a groomer. He is always happy to see his groomer Melissa and always looks handsome when I pick him up.
Their staff loves dogs, and it truly shows. Our dog is always a nervous wreck when we take him in and the staff are so sweet to him. He comes back clean and happy, and we LOVE the report cards!
Lastly, because my dog is *crazy*energy* I can never take a second to look around her shop. It's all I can do to do the math in my head to tally up a tip what with the dog pulling and slipping all over the place at the end of the leash lol! We've knocked over more of their product than we'll ever hope to buy. But Catherine and her staff are so nice and understanding about my inability to keep my dog, well, calm. So they often have a product lined up to show me at check out since I can't shop. I love this personal touch! They care that I know what is new in their store and suggest what I could buy. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. But I always appreciate this personal touch, because let's face it, with 79lbs of "let's go let's go!" pulling at the end of the leash I'd never get to look around her shop and find that stuff on my own. I can't imagine us ever taking Whiskey anywhere else. We love Generation Dog and their staff. It's a great place to take your furry family member.
