I wish it was possible to give a 0 or even a negative rating. This place is an absolute joke. My mother was sent here after a botched surgery that almost took her life. She was in need of trach removal and physical, occupational and respiratory therapy to get her ready for a full rehab center. The staff here is a disgrace to the health care field. They have no compassion, no morals, no standards and no ethics. The nursing staff, especially, should not only have their licenses suspended, but some of them should be in jail. In the course of the seven weeks that we were there, my mother was given wrong medications, was given medications that she didn't need. One particular night, a nurse administered a pain medication (my mother had ZERO pain) because she knew that it would knock her out and the nurse would have an easy night. When the nurse was questioned about this, her response was "day shift did it. We are like Waldo, we follow the leader". On several occasions, a bed pan was requested to no avail. They always made excuses (short staffed, busy, etc.), however, countless times, all of the staff were observed at the nurses desk eating, talking, complaining, on their phones. They just simply do not care. One Sunday afternoon, my mom needed a bed pan. One was requested. 45 minutes later, she could no longer hold it and soiled the bed. Again, the,staff was notified of what had just happened. They immediately started getting supplies together to get my mom cleaned up. After it was clear that they were on their way, my family went downstairs for lunch to allow mom the time to be cleaned up. We returned an hour later to find her still lying in feces. The charge nurse said "we got sidetracked". Pitiful, degrading, and ridiculous. After taking all complaints to the administration, they pretended to be concerned and wanted us to believe that they were on top of it and that this type of behavior would be handled swiftly. Reality is, they do not care any more than the staff does. After all, a staff is only as good as their leaders. To summarize, I would not recommend taking your dying pet to this place, much less a sick loved one who is in need of care. These people will kill you. The State has been notified of the things that we experienced, and depositions have been filed. Good Lord willing, no one else will EVER have to go through what we went through.
