My experience was from about 3 years ago, so I hope a lot has changed for the better.
Doctors and staff are amazing and listen to every concern and question! They are extremely empathetic and the care is exactly what you hope for with an Ob/Gyn!
This is the facility that list a lawsuit to a mother for 16 million dollars. They low-key tortured her during her labor and causing permanent pain. Don't go here
I've always sworn by Brookwood, but now I'm no longer a patient there. I was in there ER last week because I was in a car accident at 9 weeks pregnant and while getting my ultrasound the lady was in lounge pants, eating chips, and sneeze burped during the exam. I understand being called in in the middle of the night, but damn, manners don't have a bed time. And this week I had problems with my OBGYN. I was told that this was going to be a good appointment to ask questions, so I made a short list of questions about birth options (because I would like to know ahead of time) and was told I 'worry too much and can figure all that out later'. So if they tell you to ask questions you're going to get I don't knows and I guess as answers. Oh, and if you are really concerned about something, don't be, because its 'nothing'. Figure it out Dr. Batson, because you're gonna need the answers to those questions for another mom-to-be.
If you choose to go here, be prepared to be assertive.
Also, I overheard a nurse telling a patient over the phone she shouldn't be needing anymore pain medicine since it was X days since she had her baby. As a person trained in supporting pregnant, birthing, and post partum women, the nurse should have told the woman to come in to get checked to make sure there weren't any problems, as opposed to refusing a prescription refill. I hope the new mama ended up being fine and well.
I must say Brookwood / obgyn south have been amazing with both my kids from the minute I found out I was pregnant until the hospital stay. I highly recommend them and the staff. I have been comfortable and well taken care of by eveyone here. If your looking for a great and clean place with doctors and nurses who really care about yoy and your baby they are great.
If you're overweight, Dr. Routman is not the doctor for you. Having struggled my whole life, with little to no guidance, and nothing seeming to work, and having told her that, she could not bring herself to stop telling me how concerned she was. Well, so am I, but help me instead of shame me. Needless to say, I found a new doctor who did. I'd also like to note, should Dr. Routman see this, that my weight had no negative effect on my fertility.
