Princeton is the worst hospital in Birmingham period!!! I have never liked Princeton hospital! There is an evil presence in that hospital that has set up camp and it has been that way for the past 20-30 years!!! The staff is horrible from the doctors down to the nurses!!! Their attitudes are unbelievably horrible! They are not interested in caring for the patients at all! They are only intersted in killing you!!! Yes I said it! And it's true!!! I have heard so many horror stories about Princeton hospital since I was a little girl! And alot of those stories are unfortunately true!!! What's so sad about it is this suppose to be a faith based hospital!!! There's a big cross in front of the hospital but believe me you are not entering a peaceful and serene Godly atmosphere! Actually you are entering into the gates of hell when you go inside Princeton hospital folks! Is it because the hospital is in a Black community and somehow we deserve this very poor and inhumane treatment??? I stopped going to Princeton because I was not getting the help that I needed! Nothing but bad attitudes and condescending mockery from the staff!!! I am waiting for the day when God will strike down the wickedness that's going on inside that hospital!!! Until then I am going to pray for the people who must go there!

By far the worst ER intake staff. Patsy was very rude and nasty. She even got annoyed because I wouldn’t just sign the paper without reading it. I asked her to give me a second to read it and she scoffed at me . If I wasn’t in so much pain I would have definitely left!

I was having terrible episodes of the abnormal movement disorder that I have due to CNS viral damage from WHATEVER causes ME/CFS. It has damaged my heart also, which causes me problems. Long story short, the ER physician I saw at their ER on 11/7/17, day shift, when I told him that I had ME, and asked him if he knew what that was, he emphatically stated, OH YES, WE LEARN EVERYTHING IN MEDICAL SCHOOL. (mockngly) I promptly told him, "no you don't." That is because my own doctors at the best hospital in Birmingham, AL do not even know what it is, nor do they teach it. I have begged them to start teaching it at The university of Alabama Medical School! Then when I added that I also have Fibromyalgia, he MOCKINGLY said, OH NO, you have that toooooo??? Like I was a child. I have had this very life altering illness for 27 years, and if doctors do not know what it is, or how to treat it, they should just admit it, not act like the person telling them they have it, is "crazy." He ended up ordering a urine drug test, which I get a lot, and of course IT WAS ALL NEGATIVE! I was not tended to, had no nurse call button to get help with, if I needed it. Had to hear everyone talk loudly as if I was in their cafeteria, and that didn't help matters. They have no pillows either. Seriously? No table to put things on. They were piled onto my skinny bed, which worked out since I wasn't huge, but had I been.....???? You get the point. It was not a good experience. No one would tell me the treatment plan, other than, he's going to order some labs. And when I remembered to tell them that I have Osteopenia, then I got an order for a CT scan for my neck, which was really hurting, and my head, but they seemed totally unconcerned about it. They didn't care that I was in pain. I guess he did NOT KNOW anything about Fibromyalgia and what having seizure-like abnormal movements on a hard floor does to a person with that. I WAS NOT HAPPY. This 3 star review is generous. I PRAY I never have to go back. Avoid their ER if you can, unless you have a "routine" heart attack, or something common like that. Then, they would probably care for you just fine. On a good note, their equipment seemed up to date to me (a former RN, now disabled for 24 years).

went to shelby hospital last night where i felt the ER did a horrible job so i came to Princeton right after. Kathy did a lot of tests except for an MRI and told me I was fine. When leaving I requested a different prescription because she gave me ibuprofen 800 for pain but I was taking naproxen and was told I could not take both. I was then told very loudly that she would not perscibe me narcotics and to either take the ibuprofen or nothing at all. This made the people next to me laugh. I was embarrassed and upset by this. I knew something was still wrong so I went to a third facility that is NOT owned by brookwood and was given an MRI at that location and found out that I have torn ligaments in my feet. My pain wasnt due to over use of my feet and I think about the 3 hours I was at Princeton crying because of pain and they did nothing and gave me nothing. I will never forget my horrendous experience with this place and Kathy. I will never go back to a brookwood owned hospital.

I had Outpatient Surgery recently and found the facilities first-rate and the staff top-notch! OR was one of the best I've seen! Pre-OR and post-OR were very very nice, well equipped and expertly staffed. I was very impressed! Family wasn't impressed with the cafeteria food, but there are fast-food places nearby.
