This company absolutely sucks. Incompetent Employees + Incompetent Ownership and Service. They left my wife's piano OUTSIDE for TWO Days before we finally had enough of their nonsense and hired another company.
Ok, so I used them back April of this year and forgot to share my experience. Nice guys but horrible movers. Small guys who don't work hard. Let me just tell you if you think it could take you 6 hours go ahead and count on 10. I had to call friends over just to help my movers move. Very disappointed and will not use this company ever again.
My wife's parents recently moved and we needed to move her piano out of their house, so we hired College Hunks to move the piano. We expressly told them that it was to move a piano and that was the only thing that needed to be moved.
We were really in a bind. On short notice we needed to empty our Mother's house with 60+ years of accumulated stuff. The Hunks showed up on time and were exceedingly polite and efficient. It took two days to finish the job but Tanner, DJ, Quincy, Marcus and Devaun did a fantastic job and we are very grateful to them. The more accurately you can estimate the amount of stuff you need hauled the better off you will be. I recommend their service without reservation.
Then comes the worst part of all. Instead of moving the Piano back inside where they originally moved it from. THEY LEFT IT OUTSIDE!
After I am done with this review, I will actually be looking into filing a claim against these morons for the scratches that they also put on the piano during their re-enactment of a Monty Python Sketch.
This company is absolute garbage. Their employees are inexperienced, clumsy, and unable to handle simple problems. If you have an issue, you will be directed to some call center down in Tampa, FL, who are absolutely incompetent as well. The Call Center can, and will only, call the local franchise owner to express your complaint. This franchise owner, never reaches out to his customers, despite the fact that my wife and I both got his cell phone number and left numerous messages.
Now on to what actually happened.
My advice would be to find someone else.
I booked them to help me move into my first home over the weekend. I booked an itemized job consisting of all the large items that I could not move myself. My appointment window began with no call from them, which I found odd. I called the main number to get an ETA, but no one ever called me, despite an assurance by the rep. that they would. Another hour or so went by. I called again and was again assured that I would get a call with an ETA. Then, my appointment time passed completely. I called a third time and was told that there was nothing they could do and that the manager was not responding to any calls. So, I call the worker that called the night before to confirm my appointment. The worker picked up and proceeded to have an extremely unprofessional conversation with me about how he and his fellow worker were overbooked, and how they only have three trucks, and that he was still working at another job, and he was way on the other side of the county, and then refused to give me any sort of ETA (basically, he'll be here when he gets here). All the while, the other worker is repeatedly screaming "tell her to call customer service" in a rude tone in the background! Over an hour goes by after that, it was dark and cold by then, so I finally called and told them don't bother, if they even intended to ever come. So, after everything, I was left without several pieces of my furniture, including my bed, dresser, and chest of drawers. Now, I am just waiting until next weekend, until I can get another company to come out and help. Needless to say, I would not recommend this company to anyone.
I booked an appointment for 8-9am. They Arrived at 10am.
I will never use College Hunks again, nor will anyone that I know.
7:00 PM comes along and still no word. We call that Call Center again, and this time they tell us that they had to reschedule and that they would be there the following day, which would have left this piano OUTSIDE for TWO Days!
To sum up:
They said they were running late and would be there at 6:30. We then asked them if they had a different truck or additional equipment. They told us what they were bringing and IT WAS EXACTLY WHAT THEY HAD THE DAY BEFORE.
I finally had enough of these inept morons and called up someone who also owned a moving service. He was able to get out to the house the following morning and move the thing in less than an hour.
They Left the damn piano and said that they would be back tomorrow!
Wait, it gets better.....
They then moved the piano out of the house and down the first step for a total of about 15 feet. Then for some inexplicable reason, could not move it any further. Not only that, but it was ONLY THEN that they realized that they had no way of getting the piano up on their truck. So they came to a job knowing that they were going to move a piano without the proper equipment and without enough people.
The next day rolls around and again they say they will be there between 3:30 and 4:30. Well, 5:30 comes and goes and still no word from these stooges. That is when my wife and I started calling that call center and reaching out to the Franchise Owner and even the guy driving the truck.
The two young men that came out to move my stuff worked hard. I asked for the truck fee be be waived (89.00)and I would pay the labor fee. The manager could not waive this fee so I asked for the owner. She did not want to compensate me properly for my time away from work. It was clearly the fault of the empolyee's the night before. So DO NOT except the OWNER to compensate you if something goes wrong.
The scheduled day approaches. They said they would be there at 4:30. When 5:30 eventually rolled around, so did they. ((Strike One))
