This is not a place for beginners. If golf is not your thing, I wouldn’t tell you to waste your money. The cost is around $50. The setup was nice. Service was slow with drink orders, but very friendly. Definitely needs more party music because if you’re not a professional golfer, you need to find another way to have fun. Parking is horrible. Pretty much every space is taken up by valet. Overflow parks on the street. Very good variety of drink choices.
I came for my birthday and I had so much fun. I didn't think I would have this much fun golfing especially because I suck at golf. The atmosphere and food was amazing. What "topped" it off was our great server, his name is Dallas! He is so kind and did an excellent job taking care of us. Any issues we had, it was taken care of thanks to Blake! He made sure we were happy, and we most definitely were happy. We will be back, probably a lot more often now after tonight's service. It was "Top" notch service! Thank you Blake and Dallas for making my birthday a great one! You guys rock.
At the time of this review, Topgolf Birmingham has only been open for 1 month. I’ve been a total of four times. Twice from 9-11 AM, once from 6:00-10:30 PM, and once from 3-6 PM.
Our visit from 3-6 PM started with a two hour wait for our bay. However, we ended up getting to play about 30 minutes early. Again, the actual golf portion was very fun. Service was a bit faster than in the evening, but it still took 10-15 minutes to get waters and sodas. When we went to pay at the end of our golfing, the tickets were not correct so they had to take them back and correct them. Then, the bay hostess told us we could not use gift cards to pay our individual tickets. I'm not sure what the point of a gift card is if you cannot use it on your own ticket.
Overall, I really like the idea of Topgolf, but the execution in the first month at Birmingham has been very poor. I really hope they get a handle on their system.
Went there with friends and family. The gaming experience is top notch but service is seriously lacking. I can understand waiting for 2 hours on a Saturday to get a bay but after we got it, took our server close to an hour to get our beer pitcher and snacks. We got the beer but did not get glasses. We had to wait another 20 minutes to get glasses. We asked her for a refill, it did not even arrive till we were ready to go home. We ended up cancelling the order. She kept on telling us that bar and food service is slow. We spent a lot of money at top golf and I can promise you if we were to spend that much money anywhere else we would get better service. Highly recommend to wait for 6 months till they sort this out. Once again the game is fabulous but was let down by sub par service.
The evening session we arrived at 6 PM and had an hour and a half wait. We hung out in the bar area, ordered food and drinks, and waited an hour for our orders to come. In the mean time, we were asked a half a dozen times by various runners if different orders were ours, all of which were meant for other tables in the area - it seemed they did not have a good handle on who ordered what. We had to go to the bar several times to ask about our drinks, but we eventually got them. After an hour and a half, we checked in with the front desk to ask about our wait time. They said the bay that was reserved for us was taken offline for an event, that we should have been notified (we weren't), and we were no longer in the queue. I eventually talked with a manager who found us a bay after 15 minutes. The food we ordered in the bar area took another 30 minutes to get out to our bay. The two hours we spent golfing were fun, but servers were few and far between. If you go during the evening, be prepared to wait.
The two morning sessions were without problems. There were no waits, quick and frequent service offerings, and was a fun time all around.
Still sitting at my table while I write this. The golf is exactly what I expected. However the service absolutely sucks. Three of us ordered 2 beers and appetizers. We've been sitting here for more than 2 hrs. The restaurant isn't even full. Next time I will just hit some balls and have lunch or dinner elsewhere. Train your employees Topgolf
